The time stamp used in the boards has me all screwed up, if I were to rely on it I wouldn't know whether I should have a cup of coffee or a beer.

You must have not selected your time zone incorrectly. Go to your User cp
Select Edit Options
Go down to Time Offset
Select Pacific Time Zone
Save settings
That should fix the problem.
