I moved here with my now 20 year old son just over two years ago from Oregon. we both love to fish. Really miss the Salmon and Steelhead. I was with ifish.net in Oregon and not knowing you I can say I missed that group more then just about anything. My son and I have been winging it here, as far as fising goes. We keep learning more all the time. I have never used lures and they are now one of my favorite ways to fish. I also hooked, but not landed the biggest trout I have ever seen. He got off while I was worried about how I was going to land him. My knees were knocking for a good 10 minutes. Its good to know you guys are here.

I want to give luvtofish a great big welcome on being our newest member. We are excited about making this the best fishing board on ther internet. We have got several top notched anglers from all over the World giving us important information about fishing in their local areas. It is anglers like yourself that give us great areas to fish also. I hope you find this site packed with information you can use while fishing. If you want to share your expierences that would be great too. We are looking for input and reports on fishing trips you have made in Nevada as well as anywhere else. Also take a look at www.bigfishtackle.com
Most of the guys have all come over from there. Lots of reports are listed there also.

Yes, welcome luv2fish and your son. I know what you mean by winging it. Until I found this site and BIG Fish Tackle I thought fishing in Southern Nevada was all but dried up, (No pun intended). There is a great group of folks you have tapped into with both sites. Once again welcome aboard.

Take care,

Thanks for all the responses!!! We live in Northern Nevada so we have mostly fished Topaz Lake area. Yes I entered the Derby. One of the guys I have learned a lot from that fishes there, said next year he taking videos to take to the Derby ender. He has taught me you dont need to pull the bottom of the lake up when you get a bite, but sometimes I just forget I get to excited. We have also fished alot of east and west fork Carson Rivers. We have both Nevada and California Licenses since we are so close to the border. I want to try Pryamid , and Wildhorse in the near future here. There is probably many mory incredible area I dont even know about. We just learned about the irrigation ditches about 2 months ago. They have proven to hold best fish yet!!!I do miss my Salmon and Steelhead but they were very hard to get too. Thanks again and I will check in as I am able to see what I learn from you as well.
